MobileFamilyTree Pro is a completely new product. Since Apple does not allow payed updates in the App Store you need to click the buy link at the top of this page to buy MobileFamilyTree Pro. All updates to MacFamilyTree 3 will be free (for example, MobileFamilyTree Pro 1.1 and 1.2 will be free).
How can I copy a GEDCOM file from my Mac or PC to my iOS device?
To copy a GEDCOM file to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch use Apple iTunes, which can be downloaded for free from www.appple.com. After you've connected your iOS device to your computer, select your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad from the left side bar in iTunes. Select the tab "Apps" in the device pane and look at the bottom of the window. Use the buttons to copy a GEDCOM file to or from your iOS device.
Can I use MobileFamilyTree Pro on older iOS devices?
MobileFamilyTree Pro requires an iOS device with Version 4.2 or later since it is dependent on certain system functions which are not available on earlier iOS versions. iOS 4.2 can be installed on the following devices: iPhone 3g, iPhone 3gs, iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPod touch second generation, iPod touch third generation and all devices produced in the year 2011 or later.
How can I sync MobileFamilyTree Pro with MacFamilyTree on my Mac?
You can sync MobileFamilyTree Pro wirelessly with MacFamilyTree 6.1 or later. Your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad needs to be in the same WiFi-Network (Airport, WLAN) as your Mac. Make sure the applications are running on both devices. Open the Sync Organizer in MacFamilyTree or select Sync from the startup window in MobileFamilyTree Pro to sync your data.
