If you currently own another genealogy software you are eligible for a 25% discount on MacFamilyTree. The proof of purchase can either be the receipt of the genealogy software, a digital camera shot of the CD or the retail box or a screenshot of the running application.

Update from Older Version

Updates from previous versions
If you own a previous version of MacFamilyTree like MacFamilyTree 1,2,3,4 or 5 you can update to the most current version for $25. To buy the update, click on the buy link above and purchase the update. All updates within version 6 like version 6.1 or 6.5 will be free for all customers who bought version 6.
If you've bought version 5 after April 20th, 2010 the update to version 6 is free. Your key will already work with version 6 at no additional cost. If you've bought the retail version (boxed) after April 20th, 2010 please use the support form and send us a scan or camera shot of the receipt and we'll send you a free update code.

Which updates are free?
All updates within version 6 will be free for customers who bought version 6. This means you get many free updates like version 6.1 and 6.2 at no additional cost. We've released over 100 free updates for version 5 and we plan to offer about the same amount for version 6.

How do I get the update?
Simply follow the buy link at the top of this page. You can buy the update in the web store for $25. After the purchase you will get a new registration code which unlocks your new version. Your previous key will be needed for verification that you own a previous version of MacFamilyTree. If you've lost your key use the support form to contact us so we can resend your previous key at no additional cost.

How do I obtain my software?
After your purchase you'll receive a registration key by e-mail. Use this key to unlock the freely downloadable demo. If you didn't download the software yet, hit the download button at the top of the page to start the download. After the first launch you're asked to enter your registration key from the order receipt.

What happens if I loose my serial number? Do I have to buy again?
You do not need to buy the software again. If you lose your serial number, simply contact us by using the support section and we'll resend your key at no additional cost.

I bought a new Mac. How do I unlock my previously purchased software?
Simply download the free demo from our website to your new Mac and use your serial number in your order receipt to unlock the copy on your new Mac at no additional cost.

No more copying back and forth

MacFamilyTree 6.1 comes with a very handy feature if you own more than one Mac: Complete bullet-proof Sync. Many customers copy the MacFamilyTree database back and forth between multiple Macs to keep information in sync. With Version 6.1 this is history: Simply open the MacFamilyTree Sync Organizer and select the device to sync with. With a click on just one button the database is wirelessly synced to your second Mac including all changes made. This is not limited to two Macs: Version 6.1 can sync your database with as many Macs as you wish!

Not limited to Macs

The new Sync is not limited to Macs running MacFamilyTree 6.1. You can even sync iOS devices running MobileFamilyTree 3 or later with Macs or other iPhones, iPod touch or iPads wirelessly. This way, you can keep all your Macs, iPhones, iPod touch or iPads in perfect sync without copying files around.

Perfect Merge

If you've changed a single person on multiple devices the information on these devices is merged together using an integrated conflict manager. If conflicts occur, the interface will inform you, so you can decide how changes are merged together. The sync can even analyze if you've created the same person on multiple devices and will ask you, if these persons should be merged together.
