How do I obtain my software?
What happens if I loose my serial number? Do I have to buy again?
I bought a new Mac. How do I unlock my previously purchased software?
I already bought Screenium 1. Is there a discounted upgrade for owners of the prior version?
Screenium 2 is automatically provided as a free update for all customers who bought Screenium 1 after January 6, 2011. For customers who bought Screenium 1 before January 6, 2011, a discounted upgrade license is available in our online shop for the price of 14.99 $.
I want to try Screenium before buying, what do I do?
Please use the download link above. The free trial version will record 30 second chunks of video, all other features are fully functional. If you purchase Screenium from our distribution partners, you'll receive an e-mail containing a serial number. Once you enter that number in Screenium's registration dialogue, the 30 second-limitation will be removed.
I downloaded Screenium but can't install it properly
Double-click the installer file after the download has finished. The installation window will open. Please drag and drop Screenium (the lens icon) in your Applications folder in any case. This is mandatory for Screenium to work properly. If instead you open the installer file every time and launch Screenium from there, you might encounter problems during operation that donʼt occur when properly installed.

System Audio doesn't stay activated.
Usually, SoundFlower, the audio driver we use to capture system sounds, as well as sound from Safari and other applications, will work just fine. Some users reported having to repair permissions with Apple's Disk Utility once after installation because the checkbox, which activates recording, would uncheck by itself.
System Audio does capture audio from YouTube videos but not from my favorite application
Some applications like Skype, GoToMeeting, Logic Pro, Cubase, soundtracker, the VLC video player among others don't necessarily play back audio through
your Mac's speakers automatically.
- Please look for Audio output settings in those applications and set them to SoundFlower.
- Launch SoundFlowerBed from your Applications - Soundflower folder
- Click the SoundFlower icon in the Menu Bar
- Select "Built-in Output" as the output option under the "SoundFlower ( 2ch)" headline.
That way, you'll still hear audio during recording but the result is sent to be captured before being output through your Mac's speakers. The process is described in more detail in Screenium's new User Guide (introduced in version 1.3.2).
Is there a new version of the User Guide?
The latest User Guide is included with every service update. If we extend the User Guide in between, you'll find it in the Support section of our website.
I need Screenium both on my Desktop Mac and my portable Mac. Do I need a second license?
Our licensing model allows installation on two Macs as long as you're the sole user of Screenium. License does not cover installing one license on several family members' Macs but family members may still use your Mac for other purposes.
Where can I find a manual / handbook / user guide to learn how to use Screenium?
Please see Screenium's Help Menu to find the comprehensive User Guide. In addition to that, all user guides are available for download from our website's Support section in case you want to read the instructions before testing the actual application:
What if I need an answer to a product-specific question right now?
