| What’s new in Screenium 2Screenium's new editor is streamlined for the production of screencasts, it is not just yet another video editor. But of course it offers everything you expect from a video editor: different tracks on which you can arrange different contents, from individual clips to text or images. Cut clips to shorten them or just to cut out a piece in the middle. Tracks not only allow you to arrange content by time but also to determine the order in which things appear on top of each other. Use filters just for aesthetic reasons or to conceal content you don't want others to see, from e-mail-addresses to addresses in your browser. Filters can be applied to just part of a clip and also just for a certain period of time. And like all other attributes of every clip, they can be animated. Many editors offer this flexibility. – But we did not stop there. Here are a few features that make Screenium's editor very powerful and efficient: |
Mouse Highlight ZoomScreenium offers two different kinds of automatic zooming to highlight what you were doing even better. The first zoom lets you automatically zoom to any mouse click you performed while recording. So, if you ever need to make it clear for your audience where you clicked, this option will save you a lot of time; it does it all automatically. Best of all, this works even with movies you recently recorded with Screenium 1. If you want to focus your audience on just the window you're working in, we have a solution for that, too. Whenever you make a fullscreen recording with Screenium 2, it will record what window it was that you were working in and then offers you to zoom to the active window. Emphasize the context you were working on and let nothing else distract you recipients. This feature also might let you scale relatively large videos down since the zoom to the window will compensate for the scaling.
Chapter MarksChapter marks let you divide screencasts into several smaller pieces, each directly accessible. No need for your audience to have to watch the introduction when all they want to see is a the Q&A at the end, let them jump directly where they want to go. Best of all, the chapter marks don't only work with the QuickTime Player on your Mac or PC but also on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. |
Pre-Configured AnimationsCreating custom animations gives you the ability to create stunning results but can be tedious at times. To overcome this, Screenium 2's editor comes with pre-configured animations to get you even faster to your goal. Whether you want to animate movies in, move text out or scale an image in, all these actions are just a drag & drop away and if desired can even be fine-tuned later.
| EffectsScreenium does not stop at delivering video filters for lots of purposes, it also comes with ten audio filters ranging from equalizers to filters to compressors which can be applied to individual clips. Audio and video filters can be chained into each other should you not only desire to use a compressor on the sound track on which you have the phone interview you made, additionally use the equalizer to compensate for the bad phone line. |
System requirementsScreenium 2 requires a Mac with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard or 10.7 Lion. |
