MacFamilyTree 7 now supports iCloud and the new iCloud Drive to sync your trees between your Macs and MobileFamilyTree 7 for iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to keep them up to date without requiring manual synchronization. Save your data on the Mac and your iPhone will be updated simultaneously. Enter new persons on your iPhone while you're traveling… your Mac will update the information as soon as you start MacFamilyTree after coming home! Since the sync features now relies exclusively on iCloud instead of a manual WiFi sync, the often tedious manual sync between different devices is now finally a thing of the past!
FamilySearch is the world's largest collection of genealogical data online. It offers more than two billion person entries, which you can browse in MacFamilyTree 7 without any additional cost or subscription. Use MacFamilyTree 7's FamilySearch Family Tree to search for additional ancestors and optionally share the results with millions of other users.
You can use FamilySearch in two ways:
Your first option: Use FamilySearch as a pure research tool and merely download data. In this case, none of your family tree information will be shared.
Option number two: Optionally upload information to FamilySearch and share your research with other users. For data protection reasons, however, you can only share data of deceased persons.
FamilySearch is completely free of charge. A free registration is all you need to get started.
MacFamilyTree's Web Export has been completely re-written for version 7.1 and has become more flexible and better than ever before. MacFamilyTree ships with various themes which can be further tuned as you desire.
The exported files can directly be uploaded to an FTP server using MacFamilyTree without the need for an extra FTP application. Of course, secure connections are fully supported. The new Web Export offers broad options, e.g. to specify whether data of living persons are to be exported or if you want data marked as 'private' to be exported. Also, you decide if and what kind of media (Audio, video, PDF, images, URLs) will be exported.
Should you not have access to an FTP server, just use MacFamilyTree.com, a service provided by us. Use is free of charge and your data can be protected with a password with just the click of a button.
