Help! I password-protected my Chronories diary. Now I can't open it anymore because I forgot my password. What now?

Please first try all the passwords you usually use and anything you can think of that you might have chosen as a password. If you absolutely can't remember that password, please contact our support team via the contact form. You'll have to send your diary database to us and hopefully, we can restore that data for you. You can find your diary database (Store.data) here:

"Your User Folder(house icon)" - Library - Application Support - Chronories - Database.noindex - Store.data

In Mac OS 10.7 and 10.8 the Library folder is not displayed in the Finder anymore. To navigate to the Database.noindex folder please follow these steps:

  1. Open the Finder
  2. Go to the Menu Bar and open the "Go" menu.
  3. Select the entry: "Go to Folder..."
  4. Enter the path of the Database.noindex folder:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Chronories/Database.noindex

Tip: You can display the Library folder if you press the ALT-Key while in the "Go" menu.

More information about Chronories is available in the User Guide. You can find it in Chronories' Help Menu or for download here.
