Mac OS X 10.5 - 10.7

Writing your diary

Note down what happened today, what went through your mind and is worth being preserved. Use the Mac OS X standard features you're accustomed to, and choose font type, size and color.

Your Mood

Skim through your diary and see at a glance how you felt that day. Five smileys reveal your mood without requiring you to actually read each entry. Tell Chronories about your state of mind either via the Menu Bar Service or directly on the diary page.

Interesting Topics, Places you visited

Which topics you were involved with today is easily entered in Chronories. And if you continue research on the same topic tomorrow, auto completion will suggest matching words after the first few characters entered. Chronories' tag cloud diagram will give you an idea of what caught your attention the most in the past weeks and months.

The same principle applies to tracking the places you've been. Once entered, Chronories will memorize that place for auto completion. Comprehensive diagrams will show you at first glance where you spent most of your time.

Computer Activity

Chronories helps you keep track of when you use your Mac and for how long. And it doesn't even have to be running to do that! Simply have the Menu Bar Service automatically launch at start up and you'll never have to worry about it again. Let's say you return from an extensive conference call, a meeting or an appointment. So how long did that keep you away from your Mac? Just see Chronories' Computer Activity graph and remove that period from your project's time budget.

Your favorite applications

How much time did you spend answering customer mails today and how long did you surf and chat? Chronories logs this information day in and day out and automatically adds it on your diary pages. In case you've ever wondered which application you use most, you answer is right here.

The weather at home

Peak temperature, lowest temperature as well as 29 different kinds of weather ranging from sunny sky to blizzard are automatically downloaded from Accuweather.com depending on your location. That way, not only will you have the current weather registered on your diary pages, but the diagrams allow you to find out if in deed rain is more common in your area than sunshine.

Music

Even after years of use, Chronories will still remember when and how often you listened to your favorite songs and when you just couldn't get that catchy tune out of your head. While iTunes merely counts the repetitions on your playlist, Chronories will surprise you with added detail. And maybe you'll re-discover that summer hit when you read your diary entries several years later when skimming through the pages?

Today's headlines

Which topics changed the world, which were the global players - subscribe to your favorite news feeds and have Chronories add them to your diary automatically. Be it just a single RSS feed or several at a time - find exciting news from the past on your diary pages.

Screenshots, images and iSight photos

Taking a screenshot of your Desktop is just one click away, just like taking a photo of yourself. Taking a photo every day may sound silly now but just wait and see - once your library fills up with portraits, open the CoverFlow view and flip image by image. What's with the hair? Who told you that sweater actually looked good on you and what were you thinking putting that poster you see in the background up that wall? Simply fast-forward to more recent shots and see the difference that bookshelf made. Photos are either taken from the Menu Bar Service, without launching Chronories, or directly from within the diary pages. Optionally, simply drag and drop any image file on the page in order to archive them with Chronories.

E-Mails

E-mails sent and received are displayed in this area. In order to read a mail from bygone days, launch Chronories; even if you deleted that mail from Mail.app, Chronories will still have a copy archived for you.

Chats

So who do you chat with the most? It's a good thing you own Chronories. All text based chats in your favorite Instant Messenger are tracked and listed including the chats' duration.

Visited Websites

All websites from your browser's history is automatically gathered. Right now, Safari, Chrome and Firefox are supported. That way, you'll be able to easily find that interesting website about endangered species three years from now, even if you didn't bookmark it. And maybe it's high time you read up on the global warming vs. global cooling discussion.

iCal Appointments

Chronories plays nicely with iCal, too, easily accessing all appointments in the iCal database. You don't have to think of anything, your appointments simply appear on your diary pages. In case you delete an entry in iCal, that entry will disappear from your diary, too. Don't concern yourself with keeping information in different places in sync.
